Sports Seconds succumb to leaders

FISHGUARD Sports Seconds succumbed to a 2-0 defeat at home to leaders West Dragons Seconds in the Manderwood Pembrokeshire League division four.

Goals from Rob McNaughton and Liam Sheehan tightened the visitors’ grip on the title and also effectively secured their promotion.

Second-placed St Florence are now 11 points adrift, but with three games in hand, after losing 5-4 away at Solva Seconds.

Ashley Smith fired a hat-trick and James Whitehouse also netted for the visitors, but two goals each from Joe Shaw and Sam Thomas and a Ryan Thomas sealed victory.

Elsewhere, Hubberston notched up an emphatic 9-3 win over St Ishmaels, Neyland Seconds beat Herbrandston Seconds 4-1, Pennar Robins Thirds drew 3-3 with Lamphey Seconds, and Prendergast Villa Seconds lost 6-2 at home to Pembroke Boro.
