ST Davids City Council hosted a very successful and well-supported cawl competition in the City Hall, where there were nine big pans of cawl made by local businesses for everyone to taste and vote for.
After an-hour-and-a-half of tasting and voting, this year’s cawl champion was revealed.
The winners were The Sound Café, followed closely in second place by the Grub Kitchen and in third place was Bwthyn y Bwyd.
A total of £169.50 was raised during the event and the money will be donated to the local Scout group.
Winners of the St Davids cawl competition are pictured receiving their certificates from city mayor, Cllr Christopher Taylor, including Sue Chant, of The Sound Cafe, who received the Golden Ladle.
This week’s County Echo is out in shops now.
