Local AM Paul Davies has attended a reception to raise awareness of Blood Bikes Wales, a voluntary organisation which provides an out-of-hours emergency motorcycle courier service to hospitals across Wales.
They provide the service free of charge, funded by public donations.
Mr Davies said: “I’m delighted to show my support for Blood Bikes Wales and help raise awareness of the important work that the riders do. I understand that for every £1 donated to the service, the NHS saves £5.
"The riders are all volunteers who give up their free time to transport urgent medical supplies between health sites. I pay tribute to all the riders and I sincerely hope that the public continue to support this worthwhile cause.”
This week’s County Echo is out in shops now.
