Tributes to father killed in motorbike crash

A CARDIGAN dad was killed on Father’s Day when his motorbike was involved in collision with a car outside a Penparc garage on the A487 at around noon.

Father-of-four Karl Kraus, 37, died following the crash outside Penparc Motors involving his black Yamaha­ motorcycle, which was travelling in the direction of Aberaeron, and a silver Volkswagen Golf, travelling in the direction of Cardigan.

“Police can confirm that the man who tragically died in the collision is 37-year-old Karl Kraus from Cardigan,” said a Dyfed-Powys Police spokesperson.

Mr Kraus’ wife, Suzi Kraus, paid tribute to him on behalf of their family. She said: “It is with great sadness we announce that Karl passed away yesterday.

“He leaves behind his wife Suzi, sons Ollie and Liam, and step-children Chloe and Kai. The family are thankful for all well wishes, however would appreciate if their privacy was respected at this very sad and difficult time.”

The couple were only married last July.

Officers are appealing for witnesses to the collision which was reported at 12.12pm.
