Scouts going for gold in expedition challenge

By County Echo Reporter in Local People

THE first weekend of July saw Goodwick Scouts going for gold, when they took part in their expedition challenge.

The weekend saw the Scouts having to make their way from Fishguard to Cardigan on their own and then achieve a number of tasks and goals.

This was important for the Scouts as they had to complete the whole weekend under their own guidance, rather than a leader led activity.

It also involved the Scouts having to camp out and entertain themselves over the weekend.

The expedition encourages them to become more independent and learn new life skills.

With this challenge successfully completed, some of the group will now be able to go on and complete their Chief Scout Gold Award, the highest award for Scouts.

Ben Davidson, Scout leader, said he was proud of all of his Scouts and they all really mucked in and worked well as a team to achieve their goal.

The Scouts taking part were: Finlay, Ben, Tomos, Ashyen, Ole, Emily and Elinor.

Goodwick Scouts are always looking for new members, anyone interested should Call 07546 800334.

This week’s County Echo is out in shops now.
