THE full events-packed programme for this year’s Penfro Book Festival has just been unveiled.
The popular festival based at Rhosygilwen, near Cilgerran, stretches over four days this year from Thursday, 7 September to Sunday, 10 September.
The programme kicks off with an illustrated talk by Springwatch’s Iolo Williams looking at Wales’ Wild Places showcasing the country’s stunning natural environments.
On the Friday students from local performing arts group Dynamix present Ancient Tales of West Wales, peforming tales from local folklore with scripts written by the students themselves.
Workshops for writers are being held throughout the day on Saturday with leading experts in their fields including dramatist Lucy Gannon, poet Susan Richardson, renowned Welsh poet Ceri Wyn Jones, poet Helen May Williams, fiction writer Hilary Shepherd and children’s writer Penny Thomas.
Booking is essential for these workshops and places are limited.
